Meet York 

I’m a portrait artist from Halstead Kansas specializing in lighting and texture.  I love creating bold, fresh and valid imagery. Connecting with my clients during their session creates such joy and allows me to tell each individual's unique story. Which is why I truly love what I do!

 I majored in marketing and management at Bethany College and went on to earn a Masters in Business Administration from Newman University before I followed my passion for photography.  I find myself the most confident when i’m behind the camera and have been shooting seniors and weddings since 2011.

 I’m married to my  awesome husband Adam,  and we have four incredible kiddos, Davis, Quinn (my only girl),  Jaxton and Blaze. When i’m not behind my camera capturing seniors and weddings i’m usually found playing the soccer mom role and hanging out with my kiddos.  

 

15 Facts About Me:

 

1. In 6th grade, my teacher wouldn’t believe that York is my first name.

2. Playing soccer at the collegiate level allowed me to travel the United States.…I’ve been to 27 states …photo shoot in Alaska anyone? 

3. I LOVE Pickles and potato chips….together…as in one bite.

4. I love Country music & the Bobby Bones Show….Bobby and I are best friends in my head.

5. I love roller coasters and water parks but a makeshift slip-n-slide at home is awesome!

6. I make weird Sound effects when I shoot and I call them my “thinking noises”…so don’t think I’m crazy.

7. My favorite date night is dancing lessons with my husband even though all we do is step on each others toes.

8. I love chap stick…I have backup chap sticks for my chap sticks.

9. I consider myself a super laid-back girl and I thrive in chaos and find it exciting

10. I still like to lick the beaters when baking cakes, cookies and frosting but I have to give them to my kids instead...unless I find a closet to hide in. My daughter wants to have her own baking show on tv someday!

11. I can’t wink.

12. I am deathly afraid of tornadoes….and I live in Central Kansas.

13. I am a houseplant murderer and I can’t keep plants alive...but I keep my kids alive and that’s all that matters

14. If I wasn’t a photographer, I would be an archaeologist and travel the world and see all its history.

15. “The mountains are calling and I must go” My happy place is in the mountains and I LOVE snow. My favorite holidays are snow days with my kids! I Love to be outdoors: kayaking, hiking and exploring!
